The website http://micronemez.com was launched on 11.11.11 to serve as a platform for the broadcasting of creative commons licensed audio and video. FUTURE DEATH TOLL is currently participating in a group exhibition entitled MIX TAPE, which is taking place at the Tin Sheds Gallery in the University of Sydney, AUSTRALIA. The exhibition runs from June 2nd to 23rd 2011. This show was curated/devised by Lucas Abela and play-stations for the exhibit were constructed by Hirofumi Uchino & Lucas Abela. This exhibition is supported the Australia Council for the Arts.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:

“An exhibition of individual sound works and an interactive sound installation, Mix Tape provides its visitors with tactile playback of a sculptural mass of audiotape. Sound artists from around the world were invited to submit an audiocassette and a balloon. These balloons, with their tape tied to each like a ribbon are filled with helium and released into the ceiling, leaving the tape to unspool as their cassette anchors them to the gallery floor. This forest of exposed audio-tape providing the raw material for an interactive mash up of all the works. You can play these tapes by manually running their magnetic strips across exposed playback heads mounted to play-stations situated throughout the gallery.”

LINDA AUSTIN is the co-founder and artistic director of Performance Works NW and the inventor/director of the infamous BORIS & NATASHA DANCERS, whose revolving ranks have been filled by politicians, poets, professional waiters, IT consultants, carpenters, etc. All male, all un-trained, all glorious! This evening they are electrowiz BILL BOESE, back for his 3rd? 4th? Foreman appearance and video artist about town (and now, aspiring dancer)KARL LIND.

OUR SHOES ARE RED/THE PERFORMANCE LAB members live in Portland, Easton, Bethlehem, Florence, Manhattan, the North Shore, Los Angeles, London, New Haven, and Durham. Jin CAMOU loves a cat named Hermes, dancing to soul music, and a good egg. She is interested in levitation, escape, and stretching. She will perform with Linda Austin at tEEth’s fundraiser next Sat.

Theo Wilson, director, had the pleasure of seeing performers Ben Malbin and Joe Sackett act in the Importance of Being Earnest when they were all still in high school. He knew then they would be best friends forever.”

CHUCK BARNES, who runs an anxiety outsourcing consultancy, collaborates with Lambda-award winning humorist LOIS LEVEEN in a piece called It’s a Soft August Life.

LISA DEGRACE is a clown, singer, writer, performer type. She is not an astronaut, nor does she play one on tv.

DAVID ABEL and SAM MILLER manipulate words and images, and are fond of film, paper, light, sound, air, moss, and pauses.

GEORGIA LUCE & CO. GEORGIA formerly LUCE, formerly of Portland and the former Liminal, formally enjoys Portland Foreman. Happy to be. Whatta gas! Here. New York Humid August. Madeleine SANFORD is excited to be reuniting tonight w/ fellow former Liminal Performance Group member Georgia. She hasn’t done much theatre since half of Liminal moved to NYC, focusing instead on getting hitched and procreating. Lee Howard is a recording engineer/ musician, owns Mystery Machine Studio, and recorded the music for this show on a moment’s notice to keep the wifey happy. Oliver Mose SANFORD HOWARD makes his theatrical debut this evening. He demonstrated his love of grand entrances with a very exciting labor in May. He spends most of his day in a true Foremanesque and liminal state, and enjoys making rainbow sounds after a good poop.

TIFFANY LEE BROWN is the director of New Oregon Arts & Letters and an editor of Plazm magazine. With collaborator Eric Hausmann, she is currently making a 6,480-hour-long soundtrack to the Easter Island Project.

FORMSPACE is a collaboration of theatre artists dedicated to discovering truth and beauty between form and space.

DANIELLE ROSS is a Portland-based performer and choreographer. She is the co-founder of Little Friction Dance. The agentz of blaze orange known as FUTURE DEATH TOLL utilize vintage electronicz such as rotary pwnz, synthesizerz, and drum padz to perform back alley open-heart surgery on their most enthusiastic patientz.

Mizu Desierto is a choreographer, performer, educator and designer whose work explores themes of personal truth and transformation through dance, often exposing the hidden, absurd or tragic aspects of life. She is the founder and artistic director of Water in the Desert and The Headwaters Theatre.

LISA RADON and TIM DUROCHE make performances/installations/recordings/writings from words, sounds, and music. This is their 8th Foreman Festival.

ACTION/ADVENTURE (loves making semi-improvised serials about 20-somethings living in SE Portland, webtastic meta-comedies about producing semi-improvised serials, musicals about carnies, multimedia extravaganzas about superheroes, and anything else that strikes their fancy, including awesome short pieces like the one you’ll see tonight. Mysterious, ubiquitous, and eminently destructive; The agentz of blaze orange known as FUTURE_DEATH_TOLL utilize vintage electronicz such as rotary pwnz, synthesizerz, and drum padz to perform back alley open-heart surgery on their most enthusiastic patientz. The process of rearranging, patching, and modifying audio and video induces intestinal oscillations that could easily jump-start Dr. Frankenstein’s creature.

FUTURE_DEATH_TOLL is, as you know, a throbbing mess of noise that eats technology and shits performance art.
